Dr. Ahmad A. L. Ahmad is a Postdoctoral Research Associate Member at the Advanced Structures and Composites Center of the University of Maine. He earned his MSc. in Applied Chemistry from the Jordan University of Science and Technology in 2011, where his research notably delved into porous technical Silicon interpenetrated with conducting polymers adorned with metal Sulfides. This work focused on their applications within photovoltaic and solar devices, showcasing his prowess in interdisciplinary scientific pursuits.
In 2022, Ahmad triumphantly completed his Ph.D. in Chemistry at the University of Maine. His doctoral research concerned preparing and assessing novel water-dispersed aryl-gold nanoparticles and their application as a catalyst. He showcased his mastery in the field by earning the Outstanding Graduating Student in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences award for the year 2022. These nanoparticles exhibited immense potential in catalytic applications, environment, and water treatment fields.
Currently, Dr. Ahmad's academic research interests are in cutting-edge research. His areas of expertise encompass the development of pioneering nanomaterials, intelligent polymers, and MOFs (Metal-Organic Frameworks). These remarkable materials hold promise across various applications, from composite materials to biopolymers, polymer upcycling, and the ingenious realm of stimuli-responsive materials.
